Negotiating With Pedestals

Hi everyone, had my appointment with Pedestals today...

They came in just slightly over my budget. I haven't done anything with flowers yet or visited any other florists, so I don't really know the 'rules' if any. But, has anyone had experience negotiating with Pedestals? I think I'll end up exceeding my budget for music and photo, so I really don't want to exceed it for flowers.

Tell them you need them to do a little better and see what they say. It can't hurt!

And as another $ saving option -- not sure if you're getting married in a church but if you don't have baskets of flowers on the altar no one will notice. It's something you can omit and save some $ and it's not a big thing.

Definitely go visit other florists. This will be good for 2 reason - first, it will help you decide whether you love Pedestals the best. Second, if you get a lower quote from one of their competition, you can take it back to them and tell them. When I was there, I saw them lower a bride's price quote after verifying the quote she got from the other florist, and they offered to do the same for me. Don't be afraid to negotiate!

Did you end up going with them?

They came down for me. They first quote was $900 over my budget. I compromised by having high and low, but they started 'throwing stuff in' like bouts and stuff that they were previously charging me for, in order to meet my price. Believe me, they'll come down. I met with 3 other florist, too and it was good b/c I got to see what others would charge for the same flowers. One was just about the same as Pedestals, the other was $675 higher and not even what I wanted. I went with Pedestals b/c the sample blew me away!

Well, they met my budget, but as i said, I also had to go with high and low CPs. My CPs were $$$ b/c they're just orchids and very large. But I was happy to do that after seeing pics rooms with alt CPs.

I agree...My church package cost $350 and I didn't even SEE the pew bouquets!! You can cut that out for sure!
