neighbor vent

neighbor vent

SO last night, our upstairs neighbor leaves a message on our door stating that our dogs barking has become unbearable and it is impossible for him to sit out on his patio or watch tv in his living room with out hearing the dog.

My dog only barks when we leave in the morning during the week when we put him in the crate. He barks for about 30 minutes then is quite the rest of the day. We tested this so we know thats the case. During the day most of the neighbors are at work do we figured if he barks its ok he's not disturbing anybody. We live in a condo.

I understand that this can be annoying. And I'm not saying that he isn't right for letting us know, he is. I am sorry that my dog's barking has been bothering him, and that he has put up with it for so long, but we have put up with alot too...

We have put up with our neighbor stomping their feet and screaming all hours, and the cigarette smoke the creeps through the vents so much, sometimes my clothing smells of smoke. And his son who drinks and smokes weed in front of our building with his dirt bag friends bringing down our property value. We're embarressed to bring our friends over because we don't know what they are up too. We live in a nice area, a surburban area in Maryland, so that is not common. It only happens in front of our home.

Me and FH are trying to think of solutions. He is going to talk to him this weekend. If I go, I know Im going to get mad. I have a temper.

The doggy day care is expensive. About 200.00 a week. My FH mentioned a muzzle, and I think that is too cruel for words. My puppy in my baby. I can't do that to him. We took him to the doggy daycare today. And with Christmas break comming, I'll be home.

Im sorry girls. I just so upset. I don't know what to do.

I am so sorry you are going through this! Some people are just so angry they have to inflict it on to someone else. I have a neighbor who complained to the office I live in because she didnt like where we walked the dog because it passed her balcony! Its just some people are nasty and rude.

If you are allowed dogs I feel some people should just understand its a dog you cannot control it when you are not home. When a community allows dogs neighbors have to understand this could happen.

Tell this man to GET OVER IT!!! It's a puppy that is what puppies do....grrrr this is so annoying tell him to get ear plugs if it bothers him that much.

I agree with the muzzle, not nice - doggy day care is going to get expensive maybe if you do it a couple days it gives him a break from the barking....but ask him to pay for it being that he has the problem....I'm sorry but people like him annoy me maybe he should pay more attention to what his son is doing instead of your dog.

Hang in there love....

oh my goodness steph.. I would be sooo upset too.. my Herman is my little baby boy!! I would be OFFENDED TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok so it's about 30 minutes of barking that is annoying him hmmmmm....... is he in a crate during this time? could you move the crate to a different room to muffle the barking? hmmmmm.... or if he'sloose could you block him into a few rooms to maybe keep the barking away from wherever this guy's patio is that he's sitting on or living room..

I know Doggie Day care is VERRRY expensive.. we looked into it here for my Hermy too! It's like having a kid in day care....

putting a muzzle on Herman would kill me tooo!!! so I agree with you......coudl there be some kind of creative discipline technique to decrease the barking.... Herman was a big big big big barker when he was younger...but now it's only when he seeeees something or someone walking .... now he sleeps most of the day when hes home all alone........

Good luck let me know what happens.............

Well if your neighbor doesn't want to be bothered by your dog barking, then he should move into a building with a no-pets policy.

Ok...sorry...that's my temper talking..but really, as long as pets are allowed, you are going to hear dogs barking and you just have to learn how to deal with it.

I'm afraid I don't have any real words of advice. Just hang in there and maybe FH will be able to come to a reasonable solution with your neighbor, (fingers crossed)

Ok this may sound cheesy...but I like watching the Dog Whisperer and in one episode he trained a dog that had separation anxiety and barked all day....so maybe you can do something like that.

Good luck! I agree about the muzzle...I wouldn't go for it either. Poor pup he just misses you!!!

I would tell him to stop smoking inside and you will get your dog to be quiet! Not for nothing, but second hand smoke is worse than a dog barking

Are you kidding me? Its a dog for god sakes! He can deal with cars passing by all day but oh boy a dog barking he cant handle?

Some people really are nuts. They forget that if you decide to live somewhere other than on a secluded mountain that you will have to deal with whatever you buy into!!!!!

Im sorry about that. Let us know what happens
