So annoyed. Was so excited bc we finally got a bunch of RSVPs in the mail today (5!!! And we still need over 100 responses by next thursday's cutoff, date... )
Anyway, we personalized the response cards:
'Mr. and Mrs. Soandso
Two seats have been reserved for you at our wedding.'
She fills in the line:
3 of us will attend. and then writes on the side: 'Don't forget Anna'
HELLO??? We didn't forget. Talk to your sisters.... Your children were NOT invited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
idk what to do. We are WAY over the minimum (which is to say that we don't want to pay that much... and are hoping for more NOs... not surprise YESes!!!!)
So now the first kind of nerves are back......

Re: nerves of a different kind
Simply call her up and explain to her that the wedding is really large and you could only invite Mr. and Mrs. but if there ends up being room at the wedding, she will be the FIRST person you call to let her know.
We kept having to do this and it turns out we're under our minimum, so maybe keeping options open is a good thing.

We've only had 20 NOs so far... Isn't that a terrible thing for me to be upset about???

i agree, just tell her the truth (or have your parents do the grunt work).

Re: nerves of a different kind
Same thing happened to us. We are 35 over our minimum and FH allowed 5 add on guests. I am never planning another party ever and if I do, it will be a surprise so I do not receive any input!!!!

Re: nerves of a different kind
Yeah I will. Well, I'll have FH or his parents do it. It's his side. I don't think my side would be so tactless.... (they would just not come!!)
Thanks for the advice. And it's not like she's 3 adn they don't have a babysitter. She's like 19 or something... Sorry, but our parents' cousins in-law's kids are NOT invited to our wedding... You're lucky YOU were....

Re: nerves of a different kind
People are pushy and obnoxious...and it seems weddings bring this out in them.
