Anyone else getting a bit nervous that you're gonna end up being just a tad few thousand short for the wedding..?? OY! I am...MAJORLY! I mean, FH and I were putting money away each week, but sooo many unexpected events happened in which we needed to take it back out. (Such as two root canals for him, new tires for my car since they were BEYOND bald...etc etc...) Now, if we stick to that original plan, we'll be 2Gs short! Soo... I'm getting verrrry nervous! Anyone else in the same boat, or simular? My Mom is only giving a set amount, and we aren't sure his parents will be giving too much. (they totally cleared out their savings for their daughters wedding 3 years ago.. ) Soo... anyone have any idea to help out this level of stress...????

Re: Nervous
I know how you feel. I am nervous too! We have such a hard time saving, that is why I am scared... Maybe you can get a part time job a couple of night a week just to make that extra 2k...
Good Luck!

Would you consider moving your wedding date? If you move it up a touch, you might be able to get RH discounts for winter. If you move it later, you would have more time to save money.
You might also want to change a few items -- going for a more basic DJ package, simpler flower arrangements or even doing it yourself, a less expensive dress, etc.

I was thinking that too...but I am getting a promotion at work...so I am hoping that the 100 difference I get a week will help.. Also, FH is due for his raise..since last month. But, still... I feel it leaving faster then it's coming! LOL
And, we also need to find somewhere to live in March...OY!

Is there any way you can put some things on credit cards? Some cards give you 6 months 0% interest, so after the wedding you will be able to pay whatever is left? I am one of those people who never does this but me and Fh discussed it and if we can't come up with all the money we need we're going to charge BP gifts, Rehearsal dinner and pay it after the wedding.

Re: Nervous
i was going to say maybe a part time job..or even babysitting. I know this isn't the most ideal plan..but maybe if you're short, you can get a loan through a bank and then pay it off right away with what you get from the wedding.

I think changing the date would end up costing us soo much more b/c we already sent all the STDs out! lol. Also,
We didn't book the DJ yet, but we got a verrry good quote for two places.. The flowers..they are sooooo expensive..so I may think of something else for the CPs.. I'm doing TONS of DIY... jsut about everything possible.
Thanks for the input!

Re: Nervous
yes...you're all very correct. I just wanted to be reassured that alot of other people expirence this..that's it not only us! lol I think after the summer...once I'm used to my new hours after my promotion..then I'll get a 2nd job waitressing or something. FH is starting to bring extra work home to get some extra cash. I know that we'll end up making it through, but I'm just a nervous Queen! LOL. And it's begining to pile on the stress levels more and more! LOL
BTW...who normally pays for the RH dinner..??

Re: Nervous
it is really scary actually ... I hate having to stop and think about how much vendors cost, asking myself is this in my budget? can i afford this?
well me and my FH went a little overboard with photo/video and got the people we really wanted (went a little over budget) Now ... we know we have to spend a little less on a dj and flowers than we had originally planned. to us, pictures and video was number one on our list of importance ... besides food and location!!!
is there anything that you can go a little cheaper on? for example, favors ... i dont know how much you wanted to spend on those but maybe you can find something cheaper than you were originally looking at. or centerpieces .. maybe instead of flowers you can do some kind of candle thing ... you might be able to save $2000 some where!

We also think that photo / video and of corse the food are tops... soo..we have the hall, the photo / video booked... and I got all the gifts for the BP b4 they went up in price lol. We'll be cutting back on the flowers... b/c they only last one day. Yes, they set the mood, but we're gonna have soo much else to set the mood with ... not everyone will be staring at the flowers. lol.
