Nervous about my engagement party...

So, my engagement party is on Sunday, the 29th of this month (about a week and a half away). I am so nervous because we are having the party at my mom's house (to save money) and more people are coming than expected. To add to that, it is a pool party, and I am hoping it does not rain because my house cannot accommodate everyone.

We originally planned on having about 50 ppl, but the guest list is up to 62 and some did not rsvp yet.

Also, my mom is a semi-hoarder, so to have people inside my house is a tad embarrassing. She went away to Florida this week and I started 'cleaning house' because my stomach is in knots...

Any advice??

Buy tarps or tents so if it does rain people can still stay outside and not go in the house.

We have a lot of pool parties and BBQs at my moms and we ALWAYS put up the tarps and tents, even if it is just for shade. I can't stand people in my house, my uncle loves to just go inside and turn on the TV and sit theer. It pisses me off....i've kicked him out a few times.

awww, I get nervous in circumstances like that too so I can relate.

There is no use worrying about the weather or the amount of people that might show up because that is out of your hands.

Focus on the stuff that you can keep busy with such as organizing the clutter (cram things in the attic or basement if you have to), list of food and drinks you will need, organizing the 'set up' of where everything will go etc. Oh! You can also make a music list for your ipod? Basically stuff that will make you feel more prepared and keep you busy. And don't forget to ask for help if you need it!

As long as food and drinks don't run out, you will be okay! People enjoy themselves if they are fed and liquored up .

Don't stress, you will be with people who love you and are there to celebrate the great occasion.

I'm having my e-party the 28th and was super nervous up until this week. Now I'm soooo excited. If it makes you feel better my numbers are A LOT More then we anticipated too! We were inviting 120 ppl expecting around 100 to say yes.....
not one person said no and somehow we now have 142 coming! Don't freak, you can't prevent some of the little stuff from happening....breath and ENJOY!

I want to hear all about it....
