I only had them oin for about 15 minutes at my first fitting, and my feet HURT. They are a high heel, how bad will my dress look if the hem is justa smidge long?
That is, to say- if I return them and get lower heels...

I'm sure the dress will LOOK fine - but you might be tripping over it all night if it's too long.

if the hem's too long, I'd be worried about tripping on it or having people step on it and possibly pulling out the bustle!
can you get the hem re-measured quick?

Take them to a shoemaker and have the heel shaved down a bit.

Have you tried those shoe inserts that cushion your foot? I hear they work wonders on high-heeled shoes. I think they are called foot petals.

I think I will try the inserts. The shoe doesn't leave much room for inserts though, do they work with strappy sandals?
Chrissy- you're right, I only need to suffer the ceremony. Then I get to buy a new pair of shorter heels for the reception!

They should work on strappy sandals. I know I'm going to purchase them for my strappy shoes.
Here's the website...they have a whole variety of cushions!!!
I'm so glad i'm not the only one. Last week at my fitting my feet were KILLING me. I am going to have to also just suck it up for the ceremony and get a pair of flats for the reception. I'll change after the first dance
