Nesconset

Nesconset

I have a quick question for those of you who know the area. Would a house in Nesconset that falls in the Sachem School District be part of Smithtown or would it be part of Brookhaven? I’m not sure which township it would count as.

I would guess then, that a house in Nesconset in the Smithtown School District would be part of Smithtown then, and not Brookhaven? Is that right?

wow, interesting question! if you fall into the Sachem SD, wouldn't that be town of Brookhaven?

I believe it is Smithtown. But you may want to call the Town of Smithtown to confirm.

I think it's Smithtown- Sachem is further east- below Stony Brook

Oh thanks guys – I was just wondering – because say you lived on the Smithtown SD side – Would you still get the Sachem tax increase. (Sachem budget passed this year and Smithtowns didn’t) Or would you taxes reflect the fact that you live on the Smithtown side.

I got a letter with my taxes paid for this year – but since it’s paid with our mortgage I didn’t get a line by line break out of which school I’m paying for.

(I don’t live in Nesconset.. I just got curious)

your school tax increases by which ever school district you live in... then the town taxes is another story... i know that our school district runs through both the town of smithtown and brookhaven...
