NetBride and RK Bridal

Hello,

So I noticed several postings about the great deals from netbride.com, and decided to check it out myself. I provided the info on the gown I'm considering and got an e-mail quoting $300 less than the retail quotes I've been getting. However, I'm too nervous to order my gown over the internet (despite the rave reviews about the bridesmaid dresses), so I plan on going to RK Bridal so they can match the price. But RK Bridal does not include fitting or alterations for that price -- they just order the dress for you and that's it. THe fitting I'm not concerned about, because the sample fits fine and I can just order that size. And the alterations I can have done elsewhere.

My question (finally!) is: Has anyone else done this? Did you have a good experience?! It may be too much stress for $300, but then again may be a good idea.

Also, what is the general price range of alterations when you have them done by a separate seamstress?

Thanks!

Hi! I'm in the process of doing this.. I know many brides that have gone through RK Bridal and have raved about them...

I have 12 bm's so every penny counts, in my opinion..

Alterations, depending on the gown and the bm really shouldn't cost THAT much.. it all depends on who you go to for the alterations...

I got my dress from RK, they were wonderful to work with. Alterations can be very costly, to take in the bust and to give me a bustle was $175. It can be even more pricey if the dress has a lot of detailing. I would suggest you take your dress to someone that is reputable to do any major alterartions.

Happy planning

The alterations are usually not included anyway- so it might be a good deal. I went to macys and they told me alterations are 175 not including a bustle.

I ordered through netbride.
The dresses were $158 or something like that.
RK bridal wanted $258.
My girls are paying about $45 for alterations they're all getting them done locally. My MOH who only needs a hem, is bringing it into her local drycleaner and they're doing the hem for $25.

I am in the process of getting my dress for RK Bridal-no frills. I would suggest pricing it first online with the other sites including Netbride and then RK BRidal will match it. I got my dress for almost $900 cheaper. I still don't know where I'm bringing it for alterations but it still worth it.

I was gonna have my girls order from netbride but Rk matched it minus a couple bucks and I think they are happier to get it from a store where they actually inspect the dress for you.

My girls would need alterations either way so we are gonna go with RK.
