New Address Announcements

Well we closed on our new home, on Friday March 14th! :) Now that things have settled down, I would like to send out New Home announcements notifying our family and friends of our new address. Does anyone know where I can get these or make them?

You can get New Home Announcements at Hallmark (if you want to write them out) or you could probably have them made from any printer.

Try Paperstyle.com...They have alot of different cards...don't know about new homes, but it's worth a shot...Congrats on your new home!!

They have some really cute preprinted ones at Kates Paperie and Paper Access in NYC.

Michele31 had the calligrapher that did her wedding inviations do beautiful change of address cards.

If I were moving, I would probably design my own :P

You can make them yourself, if you have a color printer. I know that Party City, has really nice card stock for cheap.. and the instructions are easy... IF you go to a card store they ALWAYS have cards that say 'We moved' you can always just buy one and copy the contents from that.. And put cute little pics of your house on the front of the card! maybe a pic of you and D/H standing in the front of the house waving or something!!

Denise, can you even believe its going to be one year for us soon??? I will always remeber the other LIW bride that got married on that BEAUTIFUL DAY!!

I made ours and they were a big hit.

I used a mapquest picture of our area on the front with We've Moved and our name and address. On the inside the text reads
Here's where you'll find us!
Name
Address
Phone
email

Suzanne, no I can't believe it. :) It went soo fast, right!! :) I will always remember you too! :)

Do you have any plans yet for your anniversary? I know DH has something up his sleeve but he won't tell me what it is! :) We are broke now with getting the house, so I am sure it will be something laid back. I just can't believe it is almost a year soon! OMG!

It came so fast... We were thinking of going somewhere for the long weekend, maybe leaving friday and coming home tuesday. I also am broke being that we are also hoping to purchase a new home too.. I looked on www.Site59.com (someone here reffered me to it) and the prices are UNREAL!! so cheap. The only thing is you cant book far in advance, so we are going to wait and feel it out.

If not then we will probably do something local. Its a Sunday which I am happy about!! I wonder if the day will be as nice. I will always remember the BEAUTIFUL weather we had!!

I saw really cute ones at either katespaperie or papyrus. They were cardboard postcards and they said something like'we're living out of boxes' and then you can fill in the new info.... I also got a Martha Stewart email once and it suggested doing something with a map.

Oh the weather was AMAZING. I was telling Jennbaby who is getting married this year a week before our anniversary, how I pray she will have the weather we had! Absolutely amazing day wasn't it. We got SOOOOOOOO lucky! :)

The house is in North Babylon (West Islip border). It is called the Poet Section. We got very lucky with this house. All done for us (only needs some landscaping).

Where are you looking?

Not to far from you. We are looking in Bellmore, Merrick.. I also liked Babylon. My BIL lives there..

Its such a great feeling i bet.. i cant wait... you have to post pics!!! I would love to see it!!!

No. We are will probably be in next weekend. April 5-6. We were hoping to get in this weekend, but I got really sick after the closing and that held us up. My DH and his buddy have been painting, I have been cleaning (spent 4 days on the kitchen alone). To say the least I am a little obsessive with cleanliness. Esp. when its not my 'dirt'. So I am obsessing! DH thinks I am a nut. You have no idea what I have crawled into to clean. Next I tackle the bathroom, ha ha.

Anyway, so that is the scoop. I will try and take some pics and share. I just am not good at sizing the pics and posting them. Which is the reason I never posted my wedding picture.

Babylon is a very nice area, lot to do and so pretty. We are really close to the village with all the restaurants and the park. I love it.! We just couldn't afford the village, so expensive. so we found the next best thing!

I know what you mean about other peoples dirt.. it freaks me out too!! wish i had enough money where i could have a fresh house built!! LOL

I hope you figure out the pics cause i would love to see.. ill help if i can, and shamma is great at that!!

Yeah I know Shamma is good at it. She asked me a few times where my pics were! :) We just got a digital camera so I will talk to my husband about helping me. Give me some time though. Things are crazy right now, as you can imagine.

Def. check out the Poet Section, its the most desirable neighborhood in North Babylon (from what we hear). And we didn't pay a fortune for our house (well we did, but by todays norms we didn't). :) Got a really good deal. Taxes are a little higher than Nassau and further east in Suffolk but the school district (elementry and middle) is suppose to be excellent and they are making a teen center in town, etc. Also we have a legal ap't so that is adding another $1000 a year. Also we are not so far out east we can't commute into NYC. So its perfect for us. We are in the middle of both parents (Massapequa Park and Selden). Ok, I am bragging about our house, sorry. I am just excited! :)
