new! and RH questions

Hi! I just got engaged in August, and am new here.

I am thinking of getting married in July/August of 2010. I was just wondering if anyone had quotes for a Saturday Afternoon or night for some RHs on the water? I am going to start looking either this wkend or next.

Some ideas (please add more if you have them!)

Thatched Cottage
Harbor Club
Sunset Harbour
Sans Souci

Also, any opinions on these choices??

thanks!!

congrats and welcome!!

I dont have any quotes for the places you listed, but The Riviera in Masspequa is right on the water and I believe they were fairly reasonable with prices. (For a january quote I was quoted $52 a person..so for august maybe around $75 or so...)

I'm a Chateau La Mer bride
Definately check them out but ask for Nick! He really worked with us so we could stay in budget.

I also checked out Sans Souci which is really beautiful with that old great gatsby feel & look to it. The only reason I booked CLM over them was that I thought the food at CLM blew Sans Souci's out of the water (but their food was good too). CLM also gave us the better deal & more for our money.

Thanks everyone! I will definitely look into those places. I really want a RH on the water...and I figure since we are on Long Island!

Sunset Harbor quoted us $69 per person w/a 125 person minimum for a Saturday night summer wedding (in 08). Good luck!

Congrats on the engagement and welcome to the site! I live close to the Thatched Cottage and Harbor Club. Both are beautiful locations and i've heard especially great things about the Harbor Club. I'm getting married at Lombardi's on the Sound in Port Jeff which has an incredible view of the Sound and it's extremely private. Check it out.

I know...I must have looked at a million waterfront places to get married online. But then I only wound up going to see 3.

the harbor club is beautiful, they quoted me at $84 pp with a 100 person minimum for a Sat night in March. of course it will be more in the summer, but this might give you an idea.

Congrats & Welcome!!

I havent looked at any of the places you mentioned, but if you want something on the water, I suggest you look at Chateau La Mer. We were quoted $95 pp for a Saturday afternoon in October- the price is probably lower for July/August. It's beautiful

Thatched Cottage was $100pp with a 100 person minimum (or maybe 125) for a Friday night in June. Place is very pretty and the food was awesome. I suggest you go for a tasting!
