New Bride & First Time Posting

I was highly recommended to check out this website by one of my college friends who recently got married. I have been on this website all morning reading absolutely everything! I was recently engaged & our wedding is all the way on July 14, 2006. Our church & reception hall is already booked! We are now deciding upon a DJ & Photographers...HELP! We have been recommended SO many & do not know how to cut down before even looking. Any suggestions on where to begin???

Congrats and welcome.
For vendors I can only recommend who I am using:
Flowers by burton (florist, obviously lol)
High Energy -- DJ & videographer
VIP studios -- Photographer
M&V limo
Paradise Bridal (my dress, flowergirl dress, and bridesmaid dresses)

Hello and Welcome!! Congratulations on your engagement!!

I am using Spin Around Sound as a DJ, and for photography I am using Duet. I chose Spin Around Sound because they had a good reputation on here and they were not as expensive as many others. They seem like the kind of DJ that will keep the party going and will honor your requests in terms of the kind of music you want played, the amount of MCing, etc. And their motto is 'No Cheese!' When I went to meet with Tom (the owner) he spent like an hour and a half with us. He really wanted to get to know us and what we like.

I chose Duet because I like that they do a mix of traditional and photojournalistic (candid) pictures. I thought their work was really nice, and they were also not as expensive as many others.

Hi,
Congrats and Welcome. The vendors that I am using are Duet for photographer also. Tommy tunes for our DJ, Flowers by Burtons and Royalty Limo. You just have to go and check out what you like the best. Good Luck with all your planning,

There is a Bride's Review board on here - you should start reading reviews and see what people had to say about specific vendors. That might help narrow some choices down for you and give you some names of vendors to make appt with!

Welcome to the boards!!

Planning is fun! For DJ we are using Variety Music (they are a vendor here on LIW) and for photography we are using Twelfth Night. We looked at about 6 photo/videographers and knew there was no comparison when we met with Dominic.

Welcome to the boards! My only advice on vendors would be to read the reviews from brides and to make sure you meet with as many as you can to get a feel for what they offer and if you will be comfortable with them. Happy planning!

Welcome!! My brother is getting married on July 15, 2006!! His church and hall are booked already as well! They booked the Watermill. They are not too sure on photo, video, etc. yet either. You have time. Enjoy the planning!!
