i just got engaged Saturday!! So excited, yet nervous!!! I want a nice wedding that people would talk about yet inexpensive. I am going to start looking for places but look forward to any advise! Love to hear from you.

I've been engaged for a week and a half and moved fast and furious - just booked my venue yesterday! It had an all inclusive package so if you're looking for not breaking the bank I recommend Smithtown Landing Country Club :) I was able to get a Saturday Evening date in September which is highly competitive so there's still great dates yet too! When are you looking to get married?

From what I hear it's very go go go at first, then it dies for a few months, then picks back up again so I'm in hardcore go go go mode!

LOL That is how it's been for me. It was GO GO GO. Now I'm at a stalemate, waiting for my MOH to go dress shopping. I can't move on anything else until we pick colors.

I second Smithtown Landing Country Club and their package, especially if you don't want to break the bank but still want it to be great :)

Yeah, it's very hectic at the beginning when you are booking your venue and vendors, but once that happens it's pretty quiet. LIW is such a great resource and the girls on here are beyond helpful and supportive. Happy planning!!! :)

Congrats! I highly recommend Lessings venues (like the other girls said!) You get a lot of 'bang for your buck' and they are so helpful, the venues are beautiful, and the food is fantastic. When we first got engaged we were booking, booking, booking…then months of nothing….now we are picking up again! Enjoy! It's fun and don't get yourself stressed out :)

Congrats and welcome! I'm a bit biased, but fox hollow is amazing and depending on your budget and guest list size, won't break the bank. I basically was looking for the same thing as you. A great place people will talk about their experience at, but reasonably priced.

Congrats!! Very exciting, things do go quickly! Where are you looking to have your wedding? We chose The Riviera, they are so sweet and it was inexpensive (compared to other venues that only do one wedding at a time) The biggest thing for me when I started was getting together and figuring out a budget that was reasonable.. that helped me a LOT.... I am really bad with money and I need a plan lol

It's fun and exciting though enjoy it!! Try not to fret about all the tiny details, think about things you remembered from other weddings you've been to and it puts it into perspective =)
