NEW BRIDE TO BE HERE

Hi Everyone!

I am a 2011 bride and new to LIW. My sister, who was an 08 bride, told me that everyone on this site is very helpful so here I am.

So far all I have booked is my RH for November 18th. FH and I still need to book our church and get some of the big vendors taken care of.

I am about to begin my search for a DJ. Can anyone make any recommendations? What should I look for when interviewing the DJ? Also, if you wouldn't mind sharing price ranges, I'd appreciate it since I have no idea what the average cost is (FM me if you prefer)..

We are booked with LI Sound. We both felt they were extremely professional and we got all that we wanted at a great price. Def. check them out.

When you go on any DJ appt, just make it very clear to them what you are looking for from them. FH and I didn't want a 'talker' MC. Just someone to do the general announcements, say a few things everynow and then to get people up off their seats, but not someone who was more of a guest at the wedding.

I highly recommend Bravura, they are on the pricey side but well worth it, they have showcases a CB every once in a while so check out their website for the next one.

Welcome to LIW and Congratulations on your engagement!

Your sister is totally right - this site is amazing - i honestly don't know how i would've planned my wedding without it

As for DJs, I had Variety Music at my wedding and loved them ... they worked with me on the price and were really helpful throughout the planning process
