I agree, i would totally wear either one to a christening (I am loving #2), just with something over your shoulders for the church. A cardigan or wrap would be perfect (besides, the church will probably be cold so you will want to cover your shoulders.)

Now you're talking...much more appropriate. Although the first dress you picked is a must have regardless. I hope you are still purchasing it.
I like the orange one though I don't think you could go wrong with either of these choices.
