NEW E-party rant.....

NEW E-party rant.....

Honestly, dealing with the e-party is more stressful than planning the wedding (probably because FH and I are planning the whole wedding, but FMIL is planning the e-party).

When FMIL first approached us about the e-party in her backyard, she told us about FH's grad party where they got a tent and some astro-turf stuff so people wouldn't sink into the grass, and about the tables of food she set up, etc. It sounded super nice!

Well, found out last night that she decided that a tent is too expensive so she doesn't want to do the tent or the grass covering stuff. I asked FH, what is her plan if it rains or if it is a really sunny and hot day and no one wants to be standing in the sun for 3 hours? She would just put everyone in the house, and that would be really uncomfortable. I told FH I would pay for the tent myself, and he said FMIL would reject the offer because she wanted to plan the party herself. Also found out that she hasn't contacted my mom, who told her a while ago she wanted to help plan the party. I am getting really annoyed at the drama this is starting to cause -- I was perfectly willing to throw my own e-party at a restuarant with a garden area and pay for it.

Thanks for listening to my long rant!

two suggestions:

1. FH talk to his mother about your concerns

or

2. say thanks but no thanks to FMIL and throw yourself

sorry so stressful- it should not be

it might be better off to plan it yourself so that you can get exactly what you want. im sure MIL is just trying to be helpful but sometimes its not what we really want.
Hope everything works out .

Why dont you tell her its very important to you that your mom help plan this e-party and have your mom push her to get the tent.
