Careful: New eBay scam

I heard about this the other day.

I'm sure no one here is dumb enough to fall for it, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

I've heard people are putting scripts in their auctions that say things like 'to view this item you must sign into eBay' or something like that and there's a box to put your user name and password in. Then obviously when you do it it sends them to that guy who's running the auction, and he gets your info.

I'm not talking about the normal sign in screen, I mean it's in the auction itself.

So, if you see that, don't do it.

Has anyone else seen this?

There are scams everywhere, I got an email last night from somewhere looking official saying Citibank wants to verify my email address and in order to do that I must enter my card # and my pin, I knew it was a scam b/c 1) I do not use my card at the machine and if you are citibank you know my a/c # hello. I promptly sent the letter to Citibank Free loaders looking to rob people blind.

I get those letters all the time, I quickly delete them, I reported a few to ebay, but they are on top of it, people just need to stay aware.

I heard of a scam that people are getting emails supposedly from ebay saying they have to update their profiles. After it was reported to Ebay, they said that they never send out emails to update profiles. Beware!!
