New Engagement

I was just wondering how you all announced your engagment. I know that I need to call me closest relatives and friends, but what about people you havent talked to in a long time and my FH family whom dont really know me and havent made an effort to even remember my name. Should we send some kind of engagement announcements?

You could send out some announcements, or have an e-party....

My parents put announcements in our local papers and we had a pretty formal e-party at the Fox Hollow.. We really didn't need to tell anyone though cause we're the first kids on both sides to get hitched so it was a big deal for both of our families..

Congatulations. I called my closest family members and friends. My parents put an annoucement in Newsday. I assume the rest of my distant relatives found out 'through the grapevine'.

We had a small enagement party with just our immediate families.

I also called my close friends/family and A LOT of people heard it throough the grapevine and I received many phone calls.

I didnt have an engagement party (but my family took me and FH out to dinner) or real formal announcement, my FIRST formal announcement will be my Save the Dates, which I'm trying to send out by November 1st (My wedding is May 31,2003)

I did not have an e- party but we did send out formal engagement announcements/save the dates.

I also told my closest friends and relatives.

Thank you, where did you find the save the date announcements? I liked the idea of the magnets too. Does anyone know where to find that?

Congrats!! We did not have an e-party either but I created Engagement Announcements on the computer and sent them to people that our familys have not spoken to in awhile but others found out through the grapevine.

My Save the Date Magnets are custom made my LA PRODUCTIONS, a vendor on this site. The owner's name is Laura, as sweet as pie. I got a pretty good deal. YOu can give her a call if you like. By the way, she's great and she will even come to you.
