new engagement ring drama!
When I was first engaged May 1st of 2011 it was the best day of my life...well that didnt work out, I called it off, we stayed friends....fast forward 8 months and we realized we are perfect for each other. ![]()
Now that we are back together I told my FH that I absolutely do NOT want him to propose again because it was perfect the first time (middle of the cherry blossom festival in brooklyn botanical gardens, in front of about 300 ppl!) but at the same time i will NEVER wear the original ring again...he understood which is great because I didnt want to hurt his feelings.
I have been in love with Moissanite gems for years and I thought this was the perfect way for me to get a bigger gem for not alot of money...so my original thought was to have Jared (where he got the ring) let us trade it in for credit for a later use and then have FH purchase the Moissanite ring of my choice. He was totally down with that idea all we had to do was take the old ring back...
Well that idea did not work out because Jared has whats called a 'Diamond exchange' program where they will be the ring back for exactly what you bought it for and give u credit towards one SINGLE diamond item that is DOUBLE OR MORE OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE! Basically if I was to use the credit towards another diamond engagement ring thats 6k or more!![]()
Ugh...so now my dilemma is I do not want FH to spend 6k on a ring or any other piece of jewelry for that matter on me even tho he said he would and actually told me even tho he knows I like the Moissanite its not something he wants me to have as my engagement ring, he even made me look at 6k and more rings while we were there...Id rather him go to a mom and pop jeweler and get slightly less money for the ring but it would be CASH and get the moissanite ring for alot cheaper.
