Hi Ladies, I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Ty. I'm not from LI, I'm from upstate NY, Poughkeepsie to be exact, but I love this site and thought I might be welcome anyway. I've got about 15 months until my big day and I'm so excited as I'm sure all of you are about your days. I look forward to meeting new people and making new friends as we go through this adventure together.

We officially got engaged September 30th last year, but we've been talking about getting married since January of last year. He said he had the ring for 3 months before giving it to me. I told him I didn't want a fancy dinner or anything special. No holidays, birthdays or special days, I wanted our engagement day to be it's own special day. I didnt even want him to get on his knee or ask, I just wanted him to put the ring on my finger. I told him just put the ring on my finger while we're watching tv. I didn't want to know it was coming. So the day before our first dating anniversary he put the ring in his jacket pocket. He came over to my apartment to cook dinner and while he was in the kitchen he asked me to hang up his jacket for him. I felt the ring box in his pocket and told him there was something in his pocket I wanted to look at cause I thought it was for me. He laughed, called me snoopy, and claimed it was for his aunt. I pulled out the box from Zales and started screaming. He took out the ring out and put it on my finger. He never asked, it was just understood. It was just the way I wanted it.
