Hello!! I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Megan and we just got engaged this past week. I'm super excited and already overwhelmed!! We are thinking about a July 2010 wedding. I look forward to chatting with you all here!!
SO my first question is... what should i do first?? church? reception? any recomendations? we would prefer something in suffolk. One of the first halls I have been looking at online is Hamlet Willow Creek, i think its fairly new and i dont know anyone who has been there it just looks pretty... do you know anything about this place??

Welcome and congrats...happy planning and dont stress this site is full of amazing tips to help...I looked into the church and the hall at the same time. Get an approximate date and see if the RH are available for it...then when you have narrowed it down to a few halls and the day that you want with 2 back-up days. Then call the church to see if those days are available before you book the hall. When you have a day that both places are free jump on it

Congrats and Welcome, I think you should start with booking your reception and ceremony site then go into all the other details (photo/video, flowers etc)

in my opinion you should get your general guest list together and start looking in to your reception hall and ceremony site. the halls will ask you how many people you are inviting so you should have a general number

Also there are alot of other girls looking for churches in 2010 now, so its good to get in there and book it before you book your RH.

I agree with everyone - start with the church/cermony site, then figure out approximate numbers and a budget and then look at reception halls.... Good luck!

Welcome and congrats! This web site is so informative.
Book the RH and the church first. If you book the RH first, do not tell the church. They frown upon that since the church is the most important part of your wedding. Once you have those two booked then go onto the big vendors, DJ, Photo/Video, etc.

IMO i would book either church or hall first depending on if you have your heart set on something. FH went to school in the church were getting married at and has know the priest since he was like 5 so he was dead set on that church and we booked it first.
