My husband and I are looking for a new home on Long Island, however you never know what the taxes will be until the house is assesed. I've heard that if a house has been rebuilt, and the foundation and/or a wall was kept up, the taxes will not increase as much. Is that true? Also, does anyone know of any new homes for sale? Thanks...

Re: New Home...
I am not sure if the taxes will go up. I think I heard the same thing once. You can always call the towns assessors office to make sure Scott

Thanks. We are looking for new construction or homes that have been totally rennovated in a nice area,- a home we can walk into without doing any work.
