I am curious when it comes to decorating your house are you finishing one room at a time before moving onto the next or are you just buying pieces as you see them?

I guess you can say, We are trying to finish one room at a time. One bathroom completely done.
But as far as buying furniture. I buy things as I see them for the living room or bedroom or even just accesssories like mirrors or pictures.

I am doing the upstairs first. We did the spare room and now we are just finishing up the master bedroom. I have recently ordered a few things but I prefer to wait until the whole upstairs is done and then buy. For us it is just easier because we have so much work going on. I'd rather do it once it is all done. Ican't wait for that day to come!!!!

We are pretty much completing on room at a time. First was our bedroom, then the computer room, next the kitchen, then we just finished the dining room. Next on the list is the living room and then the guest room. The den will probably wait until the fall. Most of the work we are doing is painting and accessorizing. we havent bought that much furniture yet, we already had a dining room set and a bedroom set, so all we have bought is the den and kitchen and a few peices for other areas. I will say though I still havent completely decorated our room. I have 2 pictures on the walls so they look kinda bare!!

We are pretty much finishing one floor at a time. We have a townhouse.

One room at a time. Our house was new construction so everything has been under warranty so we held off on any room with tile (just in case it cracked.. the house is built on sand so it's always possible especially as it's settling) and also on painting in case we got any cracks..
But our one year is up on April 2 and now we have the guest bath, master bedroom, office and nursery almost all completed. The master bath is a constant work in process because when I find little pieces I pick them up but haven't decided on which color I want to paint.
Our dining room will be done after with the kitchen and great room as the final rooms because both are going to be a PITA to paint and also we want to do a stone backsplash and are awaiting new tile..
But for us completing the front landscpaing, patio and Dh's garage were also very important and very costly so that affected the work on the inside slightly.

We are buying as we see things, as well as doing room by room.
We have a Great Room where we spend most of the time, so we got that room done first, I still have to hang curtains in there, but it is the room that is almost completed. I have a difficult time deciding on window treatments...We also have another house in Pennslyvania (which is BIGGER) and we are doing that house as well, so.....it can be a bit overwhelming....I love and hate my bedroom here, so I get frustrated with it, want to finish it dont want to finish it....I am in no rush to finish because it is fun!

picking and choosing as we see it....we used most of what we had at first, now we are slowly going back and changing things...its amazing though b/c our stuff we owned didn't look the same as in our apt! - it looked nicer! weird!
