New Job

So for the last two months or so I've been looking for a new job. I started thinking that maybe I should stop until after the wedding (8/6) but it dawned on me that it could take just as long if i continued looking between the time my resume is reviewed to a first and second interview, etc. And if given the choice, I'd rather start a new gig in August/September.

What do you ladies think? Is it a bad idea to continue looking now? Does it hurt to apply now?

Re: New Job

If you aren't too stressed/overwhelmed with the wedding, then continue looking. You're right, it can take a while from start to finish to actually start a new job. no sense taking a chance on missing an opportunity!

Re: New Job

I was looking for a job right up until the wedding. I interviewed and interviewed. Married at the end of Feb, back from the HM in March and in a new job in June.

Re: New Job

I left my job back in March and havent really been 'working' since then. But I'm an independent contractor so I really only work when I have to. I think after the wedding though, I'll get a 'real' job. I'm starting to get bored working from home. I dont plan on sending out my resume until i get back from my honeymoon because some people arent understanding about needing 2 weeks straight off from work when you are so new. I figured I'll seriously start to look next month sometime...

Re: New Job

I looked before I got married - I found that many jobs would wait until after the honeymoon, or some even offered me special arrangements to work a flex schedule until the wedding and start for real once I got back.

Keep looking
