New Job Problems

Hi Everyone

I just don’t what to do and need to vent. I hate my job! I hate my job so much that it is affecting other areas of my life like my marriage. I have turned into a miserable human being who cries and fights with everyone I love. I had a wonderful job that I left because of the long commute which now I regret immensely. I contacted my old job and they said I am welcome back but they are going through a restructure of the department and I have to wait to see if my old position will still be available. I just don’t know if I can continue with this job. The people are horrible and unfriendly they won’t even speak to me. There is barley any work for me to do so I completely bored out of my mine and just sit at my desk all day and don’t speak with anyone. I feel Isolated everyday and on the verge of tears. My life is just miserable right now. My husband keeps telling me to stick it out but I don’t think I can. I want to just quit but I know I won’t be able to get unemployment. I just feel stuck and don’t know what to do.

I would suggest you take Sunday's Newsday emplyment section and apply for every job that suits you and see what happens.

I know what a dead end job is like and you just have to get proactive about it and find something else to keep your mind thinking and looking forward to something new and better!

I know what it's like to be at a job that you hate, and worse if it's working with people that you just don't like. I don't think sticking it out is the best advice if it is adversely affecting your important personal relationships. A job is still just a job.

Try to get word out that you are looking for another job, look online, in the papers, etc.

Look for a new job. I am having a terrible time at my job, but I am stuck because of the pregnancy. I can't look for work now and lose my medical insurance and paycheck. I have to suck it up, but you don't. Start applying elsewhere!
