So originally I was against changing my last name; i love my last name!!! Then I thouhgt I wanted to hyphenate but if I hyphenated my last name would have been 19 letters plus the hyphen And just today it hit me; I want to change my last name. I got butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it and I'm really excited to share FH's last name and start our family

Re: New Last Name
Yay 19 letters would be a lot!
I'm going to change my last name too. I never thought about hyphenating it, and never thought about just keeping my last name.

Re: New Last Name
Aww, that's so sweet!! YAY!! I'm actually pretty happy about my name change. Both my FH's last name and mine both start w/an 'H', each have nine letters and are both very ethnic names (although mine is a typical hispanic name and his is a very jewish name) so I think it's kind of funny the change. Although, I tease him that when we travel we should travel under my last name. Us both being american-jews in the world today can make the prospect of international travel a little un-nerving at times. You never know what nut is gonna wanna use you to make a statment.

Re: New Last Name
I really like my current last name...it's a semi-common Italian name, but it's spelled the French way, and it just sounds so strong and stately. Plus, it's going to die this generation...I have just sisters and a female cousin.
But luckily I like FH's last name a lot too, it's definitely different from mine, and it's very very Greek haha, but not a common Greek name, and it has a really cool translation of immortal. So I'm definitely looking forward to being Mrs. Immortal lol.

Re: New Last Name
I'm still confused about changing mine. I feel that my last name is such a huge connection to my Dad. But I also want to chage to fh's name. oohh what to do? both names combine will have 15 letters.

Re: New Last Name
I will also be changing my last name to FH's because my last name is hard to pronounce and now i will have an easier name. I also feel that changing your last name to your FH's it just gives you that special feeling that now you and your FH are part of something new.
