Alright so I recently stumbled upon the old thread and noticed how long it was. Also most of the brides from it are gone so I figured we should start a new one!
So girls lets introduce ourselves.

I' m from Trinidad but came here when I was 8 mos. I've been back about 4 times.
FH is from Guyana, (figures right?)

We have been together for a long time and now that this wedding is happening, I am trying to plan the wedding of my dreams while still incorporating some of the good ol tradition, that the In laws want

Anyone else?

What is everyone doing for Dj's? I need a Dj that can play everything for my soon to be melting pot family..any recommendations???

I have been wondering the same thing. I live in Brooklyn have any of you listened to 104.7? I was thinking of hiring one of those DJs?

Kirk from Energy Entertainment did my sister's wedding and was really good. He will do my FSIL's wedding next year. The only reason he is not doing mine is that I won my DJ at a bridal show. Kirk is very reasonable too.

I am using Ebony Entertainment. They are really good too but if you are on a budget Kirk is the way to go.

I'm prob comin back next month because the bm dresses are comin in next month and I have to take them 2 FL for his sisters to try them on and see how they fit.

I'm using a friend of mine that is a local Brooklyn DJ and he is also on the radio. He is from Trinidad but he plays everything equally well. I must have a DJ that specializes in Soca because not everyone can mix Soca, however a Soca DJ is just as good with other music. He is great and his price is even better so Im happy with him. Can anyone reccomend a person who makes black cake? Also, any idea of how much it would cost for approx. 200-220 people? Do they charge by the sheet or per person.
