How many years after dating did FH proposed? What made you say 'Yes'? What made your FH different from the others?

Answer: FH proposed 4 years later... We lived together for 3 1/2 long yrs before he proposed.. I said 'Yes' because we both worked soooo hard on our relationship and ourselves to make this work... The love and chemistry we have is UNDESCRIBABLE.. Thats what made him different from the others...

We were dating for a year and a half when he proposed. We had been friends for almost 4 year before we started dating though, so we always kind of knew we were perfect for each other.

i said yes because he asked
and he is diffrent from any other man becuase he takes me for who i am and i never have to pretend to be anything but me when we r together..

I'm not usually a real avid poster but this is a really great question and I'm avoiding my studying.
When we first met I never thought he would be the guy I would marry. He was the total opposite of my 'ideal' boyfriend. In time I realized that I loved how he challenged my perspective. We had been long distance for 6 months and had broken up when I realized I wanted to marry him. I was going through an extremely difficult time and he was still there for me. He was my biggest advocate against myself and he loved me as the truely messed-up person I was at that point. After grad-school I moved back and we got back together. In less than a year, 4 years after we first got together, he asked and I said yes. I have no doubt he is the best thing that has happened to me.

Aww.. Sometimes in life you need a break!! A 1 1/2 after we started dating we hit rocky grounds... I moved out (Only for 2 weeks!!) but that little situation was going to make us or break us... I needed him to focus and be ambicious for a better life ... I knew he was the one for me and I called him and said 'I want to work this out!! But if you dont come and get me you will lose me forever!!' ... Later that day he picked me up and after talking he said he was going to make everything possible to make me the HAPPIEST woman ever!! He has LIVED UP to his word ever since!!! I can't complain.. He is GREAT!!! :

Great first QOTD!!!
FH and I were dating 3 years and a few months when he proposed. He had moved away to North Carolina a few months before our 3 year dating anniversary and begged me to come join him. I loved him, and we'd talked about getting married, but I just told him that I couldn't pick up and move down there without knowing we were going to get married and have a future together. It was tough going long distance, and still is.
He proposed about 6 months after moving. (He said it would've been sooner, but he had trouble finding a ring he loved! ) lol
I said yes because every time I'm away from him, my life isn't as good as it is when I'm near him. We complement each other so well, and he makes me feel like a different person when I'm with him than when I'm with anyone else. I feel more alive, more happy, more inspired, more at peace with life itself. I can't wait to feel that forever.

he asked me after 1.5 yrs of dating- our relationship moved so fast. he moved in after 3 months of dating.
I said yes because.....hes perfect for me. :)

This is actually the second time we have been engaged - long story - but we have been together FOREVER. The second time, and the right time, that we got engaged we had just celebrated our 9 year anniversary. We had been living together at that point for about 7 1/2 years. We recently celebrated 10 years together and I can't wait to spend many more decades with this wonderful man

we were together about 7 years... we were living together for two...
i actually didnt say yes!! i just grabbed the ring because i was so excited!!
then i snapped out of it and gave it back and let him put it on my finger.. and said yes!!!
He is awesome!! Every day he just keeps getting better!!1
I couldnt of created a more perfect guy for me!!

He proposed after exactly 2 years (the 2nd anniversary of our first date).
What made him 'the one' is that (a) he's my best friend (b) he lets me be me and (c) he makes me laugh every single day (even the days I'm not liking him too much).....

We were dating for 3 years and living together for two when he proposed. I always knew he was the one since out first meeting. I even told my closest friend when I saw him that 'I am going to marry this man'. lol
He is truly my best friend and I can rely on him through anything! We have worked very hard on this relationship both individually and together.

FH and I were on and off, but we were together again for 3 years before he proposed. It was weird though because it should have been sooner but his dad got sick.
I said yes because he is my best friend and I love him. He is the first person I want to talk to when something good happens or when I am upset, he makes me happy all the time, and I missed having him in my life when we were apart. And I love him.

it was Fh first year of law school and he said if i stuck by him through that toture i would stick by him through anything!!
i said yes because i love that he is my complete opposite but we balance each other too!!

We were dating for 8 years when he asked. We met when we were 18. We had our ups and downs with our relationship and our families, he is my best friend and I couldn't imagine marrying anyone else.
