New Ring!

My original engagement ring was a beautiful princess cut solitare in white gold. The white gold wasn't a good match for me, however, because it kept turning gold - this can happen with some people's pH and apparently mine, as FH would say, is very acidic So we made the decision to get it remade into a palladium band, because platinum is too much but palladium is almost as good, just not as heavy. It's actually a stronger metal, from what I hear. While we were at it, we added a few diamonds onto the band - FH wanted to do this originally but didn't have the $$ at the time, and even though we should have used the $$ on other things ... I felt that it's my engagement ring, which I will have forever, and now, it will look soooo awesome with my wedding band, which will be channel-set princess cut diamonds half way around a palladium band. Take a look!!!! I can't stop staring at it!!!! Old ring is first, then the new one!

Love it! Yeah mine always looks yellow. So your PH can change it? I was thinking about getting it dipped in plat. but if I am changing the color I will have to keep dipping it. See you learn something new every day! Thanks and love the ring!

White gold is gold that is dipped in liquid platinum - which is called rhodium. Not all people who have white gold will have the yellowing problem - it just depends on your skin's makeup, I have heard. I have all sorts of skin issues, so it didn't come as a surprise to me at all. Ask your jeweler about it and see if he can re-dip in rhodium, and see how long it lasts. Mine never lasted, so we just had it remade ... cheaper and better in the long run.
