New to Board

Hello!

I am new to this board and would appreciate any suggestions for a reception hall on Long Island, preferably in Nassau County. We are thinking of 150 - 200 and looking for a reasonable rate ($80 -100). I would appreciate any suggestions and input.

There are so many places in Long Island it can really get confusing! My first advice is to narrow down what you're looking for..garden setting, outdoor wedding, by the water, historical building, etc. Once you determine what's important to you can eliminate a lot of reception halls. Good luck but most of all have fun!

How about The Swan Club or and of the Scotto Bros places(Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Chateau Briand).

Marybeth - Carltun

Hi - I just booked the Carltun for next February. Can you let me know the details after your big day. You are right, I could never have even thought about the Carltun in peak season.

How has your experience been so far? Who have you been dealing with?

I also booked with Carol. I've just started looking for a photographer. Have you heard anything about Creative Compositions? Someone just recently recommended them to me and I believe they are also a recommended vendor of Carltun's.

Also, if you happened to have read an earlier message I wrote I mentioned that I am looking for a DJ. I know a DJ does not necessarily fit in with the Carltun but I always wanted one instead of a band.

I had suggested James Faith Entertainment a while ago because he specializes in customizing bands to what you described (solid horn section, etc.) (as well as having intact bands.) I didn't know his pricing, but I just found out that his musicians are about $700 each, so a seven piece could be in your budget (and they are professional union musicians.) Try calling him @ 631-331-0808.
