new to board

I am in the beginning stages of my planning and have decided on approx when
I want my wedding. I now have to decide on a catering hall that will be good for approx. (I Guess)
170 people. We havent figured on how many I am just fudging theamount of guests.
Are there any nice inexpensive places that have a nice atmosphere?
I have looked at the Swan Club, and at Thatched Cottage. Are there any other places that are similar out there?

Welcom lili you can get alot of great advice here, try a search on reception halls. I hear Sans Souci is nice and if you are willing to travel out east the eastwind is supposed to be great as well as affordable. I am getting married at the watermill but it is a little more pricey than the ones you mentioned...of course I love it so you can always check it out. good luck!

Hi Lili,
Welcome!!! You'll find that the ladies here are all very helpful. I am having the same amount of people as you and I went to alot of halls. I booked with Leonards of Great Neck. I felt they gave you the most for your money and the place is beautiful!!! Not as expensive as the previous ones mentioned. Worth cheking out

If I can be of any assistance please reply anytime.

Congrats and welcome. This board has been soooo helpful. The people here are great. I read the above suggestions about a reception site and agree with everyone, so I won't even repost what they said.

Good Luck and welcome aboard!

Welcome!

If you want to stay along the North Shore you can try:

Woodbury Country Club
Fox Hollow
Harrison House
Westbury Manor

I think all of these places can accommodate 170.

Lots of luck with your planning

welcome lilli!
I would suggest looking at The George Washington Manor in Roslyn & Milleridge Cottage in Jericho(that's my place) They both give alot for the money!
Good luck with your plans!

I can't suggest anything (my guest list ended up being 100 - 120) but I just wanted to add my hello & welcome too

Welcome Lilli, Good luck I am also pretty new to the boards and find all the girls to be very helpful. You schould try the Jericho Terrace I recently went to a wedding there and it was very nice.

Welcome aboard!

I Looked at those two. But went with North Ritz Club in Syosset. I am very happy with my decision. I also liked John Anthony's in Babylon. All are similarly priced to the ones you mentioned and can accomodate you # of guests easily.

Search this board for the places you are consiering. I am sure you will see alot of info. Plus as you have questions ask away. like Debbie08 said takes things with a grain of salt. This ia all about people's opinions.
