Pet Shop Offers “Showers” for New Pets
An upscale pet boutique in Florida is offering a new way to shower your new puppy with gifts.
When you have a new puppy it's similar to having a new baby. You need feeding dishes, collars and leashes. You need and want it all. That’s why innovative pet shops are adding new pet registries to the services they offer. And they are scoring big time with new pet parents who want a “puppy or kitten shower”.
It doesn’t cost a thing to register. The most popular items include bathing suits, raincoats, beds, and even totes to carry your pooch or kitty around in. Then let your friends know you’re having a “shower” to introduce your new “family member”. And don’t forget to tell them where you’re registered. Extend the invitation to your friends’ canine or feline companions and you’ll have a ball – or get one, anyway.
The pet industry continues to soar. Six out of ten households have at least one pet and their owners will spend close to $34 billion in 2005 alone.
