new years eve wedding?

does anyone have any knowledge on upcharges to have it that day? if anyone is planning one or knows anything about cost premiums associated with that day, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I was thinking December 31st (which is a monday night btw) for 2012 and I've heard mixed reviews on pros/cons...any thoughts, opinions or personal experiences you can share?

If it's a Monday, I would do the night before since most people are off on NYE or will take the day.

I am sure you will deal w holiday pricing and a possible surcharge for the fact that it's NYE. It could be pretty fabulous if you have a huge budget, but otherwise you may find it to be unattainable.

Also, just keep in mind how difficult it will be to get hair and makeup people to travel to you that day. Just my 2 cents.....

I know that bands charge more for NYE, because they have to spend the night away from their families on a holiday. My FH is playing a wedding this year on NYE.

It will probably be the same for most vendors.

I think it would be great. You might not have too many charges since it's on a Monday. But I've never looked into it so IDK!

Most people are off new years day and have half days on NYE so to me it would be the same as having a wedding on a Friday. I'd love going to a wedding on NYE.

I considered a NYE wedding too because it went with my fireworks theme (and it would have been almost exactly a year after the engagement, I didn't want to wait any longer! lol!) but I was told everything would be more expensive.

I got mixed reviews about wanting to attend a NYE wedding. A lot of my friends were all for it and said it gives them fun plans for NYE (since its sometimes quite a task to sort that out lol) but others felt the opposite.
