new years eve wedding?

new years eve wedding?

does anyone have any knowledge on upcharges to have it that day? if anyone is planning one or knows anything about cost premiums associated with that day, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I was thinking December 31st (which is a monday night btw) for 2012 and I've heard mixed reviews on pros/cons...any thoughts, opinions or personal experiences you can share?

Any help is appreciated! TIA!

we were debating btwn a summer wedding or new years eve wedding. we ended up going with the summer wedding but there was no upcharge for nye. it was a friday so they would have charged us the friday price.

I've never been to a NYE wedding but personally I would loooooove to go to one. How awesome would that be? Not only does it give your guest a reason to get all dolled up but it's a NYE they won't forget.

Champagne will be flowing and then at 11:59pm right before the ball is about to drop you & your husband share the most romantic kiss for all of your guests to witness & confetti or balloons drop from the ceiling.

hahahhhhahahahah...OKAY fantasy over...back to work.

i dont have any info on the cost of a NYE wedding but i will say i am invited to one this year and couldnt be happier!!!
I think it is a great idea...people stay up late no matter what day of the week and you will be surrounded by all of your friends and family.
def go for it!

THIS!!! I went to a wedding last NYE and it was the best NYE I've ever had!!! It was a friends wedding, so I was with most of my friends and we had a ball!! One thing that was a plus was the shuttle back to the hotel- I know my friend paid extra for it but it was very helpful. I would say go for it!!!

And she had 7 no's out of 200!!! (but no OOT guests). I guess most people agreed that it was/would be a good time :)

HTH!!

Personally, I'd LOVE to attend a NYE wedding. The issues I foresee would be:

1) People with children - If you're not having kids at the wedding, parents may have difficulty getting babysitters.

2) Friends' families - NYE has never been a big deal in my family. I do, however, have friends whose families do NYE together as a tradition. I know, referring to the people I know personally, they wouldn't attend a NYE wedding. Granted, I don't think that decline # would be particularly high.

FH and I are always scrambling to figure out our NYE plans. If we had a wedding to go to, all of the planning would be taken care of for us!

I don't know anything about the prices but a NYE wedding sounds awesome.
