hi all,
looking to get married in New york city in 2010. looking for recommendations on where and if you have any recommendations for wedding organisers?

I'm aiming for a very intimate romantic wedding.

Thanks!

Congrats and welcome!
I'm not sure what you mean by wedding organizer. Do you mean a wedding planner?

yes a planner! or should I plan it myself? We are hoping to keep it very small with only close family & friends travelling to new york with us.

So venue must be small enough to cater for between 30-50 guests. We will be having a civil cermony rather than church wedding.

Really would appreciate some advice on locations and approximate pricings.

how much on average would a regular wedding budget be for about 100 guests? over here it is about €30,000 euro which is about $47,000. (obviously it can vary widely ) but we'd be hoping to keep that to a minimum!

A beautiful venue is The Astor House on East 80th St. It is now the headquarters of the Junior League. It has many different size rooms and is not that expensive. It is the former Astor family home.

We had our bridal shower there and they were amazing to work with! Here is the website:

Check out The Alger House! It's great for smaller venues. You can hold the ceremony there, too, if you needed. It was an old-fashioned carriage house! The prices are great and the Bridal Suite to get ready in is adorable!

The Central Park Boathouse and Tavern on the Green both have rooms that accommodate your size party for a wedding.

Oh - and also Daniel is a beautiful restaurant and because its a restaurant, they love doing smaller weddings. (Might be pricey, not sure of your budget.)

And the other idea I had was Astro in NYC! We went to look but it was better for a smaller guest list. (Not that mine is big - I'm having about 90ppl)

30-50 guests, I dont think you will need a planner, maybe just a DOC as the # is easy to handle
