New York Sports Club

Does anyone belong to NYSC and if you do, can you please let me know what the membership fees are. Thank you.

I used to be a member. I had a corporate membership, but I asked what regular fees are and if you get the passport which allows you to go to any NYSC its 75 dollars a month and I forgot what the down payment was. If you join the basic and go only to that one NYSC its like 50 a month.

I am not exact but last time I was there was over a year ago so this is from a year ago.

I had a corporate membership too and it was something like 65/month to have unlimited access to one club and non peak access to all the rest.

The initial fee is between 80-100, it depends what type of membership you get, but you pay it once then you pay monthly whatever type of membership you get.

I used to have a membership... it was 60.00 a month but that was with a discount from DH's job...

We purchased the Gold Membership:
$129 for the initiation fee
and
$66/month

-Use of all facilities at this location at all times.
-Use of other locations during off-peak hours only.

To be honest, I don't like NYSC. I miss Gold's big time!

Jenny5150 say it aint so, I am a faithful member going on 3 yrs now and I love it there. All the locations, all the great classes, tho filled at times. You find the good teachers and the good classes and you do you thing. I have a corporate membership so I do not know if what I pay would apply. Check their website or give them a call and see if they have any NYear's special going on now.

shamma - I don't go to any of the classes. My FH and I only lift and we used to use mostly free weights. NYSC is mostly machines and the location that I go to (Huntington) doesn't seem to have a lot of equipment. It's also a different atmostphere.

We used to go to Gold's in Syosset and I miss it terribly. I tried to convince my FH to keep our membership there, but he didn't want to drive 30 minutes to go to the gym.

I was thinking of joining the NYSC in Huntington...do they offer good classes? Is it worth the membership? Uh oh, now Im nervous to join ...

I was a member of the one in Commack. I got a teeny tiny teacher's discount, and paid $52/month. I never cared for taking classes there because they are given in a glass enclosed room and I always felt like a monkey at the zoo.

CarrieAnn - if you're into the classes, you'll like it! They offer a lot! It's not a bad gym, don't misunderstand me. I'm just missing my old gym.

Omigod!!! I'm a member of NYSC and with my UFT (teacher's union) discount, I pay $83.50 per month! I have the passport membership and generally use it all over the city, yet haven't gone to the gym in months! I have to get motivated (spending over $83/month on the gym should be motivation enough)!
