Hi Ladies, I am new to the forum....and I hope you all don't mind, but I am not from LI...in fact, I'm from Chicago! I've been searching everyone for a bridal forum in which people actually participate in and this seems like a great place!!!! I'm getting married 8/16/08 and I still have many things to plan, so I'm sure I'll be asking for advice soon!

I'm actually getting married in Chicago...I was looking for a place to chat with other brides, and all of the ones for Chicago were pretty bad. I found this one and I couldn't believe how many women were on here!!!! I do have a good friend who lives in LI (she isn't engaged yet, but probably will be sooner than later) and I am going to send her butt over here asap !
A little about us: I am 25 and currently in school to get my doctorate in psychology. He is 26 and works in finance. Our parents are paying for our wedding....which I really appreciate, but also means that I have given up control over certain things. Specifically, our guestlist.....which is at 330 people right now. Otherwise, I'm very lucky because I basically have final say over all other decisions.
We have lots of stuff done, have the place, the florist/decor, my dress:), mc, stds, photographer and videographer....now its just on to the little details. It is also apparently wedding season in Chicago, because 3 of my other good friends are getting married within 2 months of me. (2 are using the same location!)
Anyways, this site is really addicting! And everyone here seems great!
