Hello and happy new year :) i am just recently engaged and just beginning this wedding planning. I booked my catering hall, and started researching photographers. I love the vintage/ (weddinggawker.com) kind of photo style, and also like the cinematography videos that are out now. Does anyone know if theres a place that offers both.. I checked out patken, i liked there photos but the video wasnt as cinematic as I'd like. Or do you reccomend booking them seperately? Help would be greatly appreciated Thank you and happy to join other B2B'S!!!

Re: Newbie :)) w.. photo/vid question
Welcome & congrats!! You can always do video seperately but I would suggest visiting other photographers who also do video to see if you get a better deal for the package as a whole.
Some other photographers &videographers to look at:
Duet Gina Esposito Lighthouse Sil*ver Fox Thomas Paul Benchwerk (I believe there 2012 dates might be closed already) AJ Ingoglia Films
Good luck & happy planning!!

I agree with these suggestions and would add in Imagine, Memento, and lovemore based on the style you described. You will likely find better deals going with a photo/video combo package, but I am not sure which photographers offer a more cinematic video. I am booked with duet for photo and AJ Ingoglia for video. HTH

Congrats!!
ooo i love weddinggawker! it's addicting lol
it's always good to book photo/video together because you might get a great deal that way. but, if you like one photographer and a different videographer, there's nothing wrong with booking them separate.
first to come to my mind is benchwerk for photo and AJ Ingoglia for video.
Good luck!

Check out Ken Hild, he does not do video but has a guy in the same office as him (they work together kinda) who does cinematic videos...price is reasonable and his work is great

Check out Benchwerk for photo and either Myther Ganibe or AJ Ingoglia for video.

Did anyone decide to not do video? I'm wondering if it will be necessary. It's not a money matter - I just wonder if I'll ever actually want to watch a completely edited wedding video of the day instead of a more true-to-life memory of it all!

I originally thought this as well but decided to get it because it came with our photo package. It ended up being a good thing because DH's 98 year old grandmother wasn't well enough to make the wedding and when she saw the video she was so grateful that she got to see us get married.

Try taking a look at Alan Abrams Photography has that vintage feel. He was really nice when I spoke with him on the phone. (He does not offer video though) & I love Imagine Studios :) Very nice as well. They have lots of albums to view on their facebook page
Try North Island Photography. LINK For video Pennylane is amazing but expensive!

Re: Newbie :)) w.. photo/vid question
Thank you all My fiance and I went to Silverfox lastnight and really loved there work. My fiance was happy and so was I. So we ended up booking yay. We were a little nervous if we booked to quickly but it felt right so we just followed that. :)

I think that you are right in a sense that after the initial viewing it probably won't get watched that often, but my mother would KILL me if I didn't get it documented; she was watching my sisters wedding (on VHS) from 9 years ago just last week, shes weird like that. Plus if anyone can't attend, its a great way to showcase it.

I knew long ago I would get a video when my cousins watched my Aunt's video saying 'MOMMY'S A PRINCESS...SHE LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE THIS MOVIE'
