Newbie with Dress Shopping Question??

Hi girls-- I am going dress shopping this week for the first time and had a couple of questions.

1. I saw some dresses I loved online---Can I go into the store and specifically request to see those dresses?

2. Do they tell you the sizes of the dresses you try on?

3. How many dresses do they let you try on?

Thanks!!

----- YES YOU CAN, BUT I WOULD SUGGEST CALLING THEM FIRST TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THE EXACT STYLES BC NOT ALL STORES CARRY ALL THE DRESSES

2. Do they tell you the sizes of the dresses you try on?
------ THE STORES I WENT TO DID... THEY ARE NORMALLY ANYWHERE FROM AN 8-14

3. How many dresses do they let you try on?
----- DEPENDS ON THE STORE AND HOW BUSY THEY ARE... MOST THAT I WENT TO LET ME TRY ON 8+ (IM A REALLY QUICK CHANGER AND CAN IMMEDIATELY SAY IF I LIKE THE DRESS OR NOT)

Thanks!!

1. Yes, but like the other poster said, I'd recommend calling ahead to see if they have them. Also, it helps to bring pictures with you.

2. Yes they'll tell you the sizes.

3. Depends on the store. In one store I must've tried on at least 20 dresses!

You should bring in the photos. If your heart is REALLY set on trying on a specific dress, you should call to make sure they carry it; even if they carry that designer, they don't carry ALL their dresses. The photos though give an idea to your sales associate of what you're looking for, and they can also pull similar ones for you. You can usually try on as many as you want though after trying around 10-15 you might need a break - it can get mentally exhausting! You can usually see on the tag the size you're trying on, but it doesn't matter b/c the designers use the oddest of systems - they will measure you and get the size based on your largest measurememnt. Have fun!

another suggestion somebody told me was to call places and ask the store these questions, too. since all stores are different they might have different policies...HTH

i'd call ahead of time to find out if the store carries the dresses you want to try on. For the most part, the dresses in the store are 10s and 12s but they should have no problem telling you what size the dress. Most of the time you can see the size yourself. And as far as the number of dresses you try, most places don't care how many but bear in mind that some places give you a time frame (i.e. hour appt) so you may not have enough time to try on as many as you want.

1. Call ahead and ask if they have a certain style esp. if there's a dress you REALLY want to try on. (Unless you are going to a store that only sells that particular designer..then's theres a good chance they have it)

2. They will tell you the sizes. Most dresses I tried on were 12 and 14. They pulled it back and clipped it so it would fit me.

3. It depends on the store. Some give you a # limit (RK Bridal let me try on 7)...some give you a time limit (Macy's my appt was an hour).

Call ahead to see if they have the dress you are looking for- If they don't sometimes they have something very similar to what you are looking for. I found every dress I wanted to try no one had but they brought me things that were pretty close.

Make an appointment tho!!! If you walk in- sometimes they rush you a bit because they are busy. Most places will let you try on as many dresses as you want- which is good- but trying on too many in one day gets confusing sometimes.

The dresses I tried on ranged from an 8 to a 16!!! They will clip them in the back so they somewhat fit you- Most of them that I tried on fit me except in the boob area

Good Luck shopping- and have fun with it!
