Newly Engaged

I just recently got engaged, and have started looking at some places. It's quickly becoming so overwhelming!!! :) Has anyone heard anything good or bad about John Anthony's in Babylon?

I am new to this stuff too, got engaged on Feb 11, but you will find the girls on this site are AWESOME...such a huge huge huge help....you come in clueless but there is so much help out there!! Good luck and Happy Planning!!

Congratulations and Welcome! It may seem overwhelming at first but the girls are here are a great help!
I had been to a wedding at JA and everything was great. I loved that it is right on the water. The service was excellent, the wedding had the ceremony there too and I remember it being very elegant.

I called John Anthony's twice to make an appointment to go see the place & got spoken to by a snotty woman I said if this is how they treat me now how will they treat me throughout?!

The place itself is beautiful though & I have heard nothing bad about the actual place otherwise.

I should have had the salesman from my co. call, they would have been kissing my @$$ literally.

Oh well their loss but some ladies can tell you good things. I can't

My girlfriend's wedding was there in May 2000. Food was great! View was great and great picture location when sun is setting. She also had the absolutely fabulous 'fish' smorgasboard (lobster tails, etc.) and the viennese hour was incomparable, so much to eat, so little time.

I loved John Anthony's and almost had my wedding there (I wound up going to North Ritz Club - it only does one affair at a time which I liked) - I really liked JA's and heard great things about it. I love the water view. Ask Thrilled about it - she's getting married there in Sept!

Congratulations and welcome aboard!

We used to have our retirement party there for the district and I can tell you the place is beautiful. The food (this was a party not a wedding so maybe it is different because it was Buffet style) but was cold in the middle and they were constantly out of stuff at the buffet.

They were also really snotty to my FH and I when we were looking at places.

Welcome to the boards.
Best thing to do is do a search for John Anthonys.
I'm sure you will find varying opinions about the place.
Have you gone down to John Anthonys yet?

Congrats!! I have heard nothing but GREAT things about John Anthony's I was at a wedding there last august and they did a beautiful job. Good Luck with the planning!

My sister got married there in 1999. The wedding was nice. Ask for Patty. Do a search on the boards, type in John Anthony's or any catering place for that matter.

Congrats on your engagement. I've never ben to John Anthony's, but I've been to a few functions at the Harbor Club, which has the same owners and the food and service was great.
