Newly Engaged

Hi Everyone!!
So I just got engaged on Friday. My fiance and I would like to book as soon as possible so we can get the ball rolling on everything. We really don't know where to start when it comes to looking at RH. We want a 1 venue hall that can hold at least 200 (preferably waterview). We don't want to overspend. We're thinking of getting married on a Saturday sometime between March 31st 2012 and June 23rd. If we have to go past June 23, we can do a Friday. Can you brides and bride-to-be's please send me when and where you are getting married (if it is reasonable) and what you are paying per person? I know it's a personal question, but I don't want to waste my time looking at places I cannot afford. We're going to The Riviera on Tuesday.
Thank you!!

Re: Newly Engaged

Congrats and happy planning!!

One thing about the Riviera...if its the one in Massapequa, and you're having 200 people, I don't think it's going to fit. A friend got married there and had 160 and it was a tight fit in my opinion....

Sorry...I honeslty don't know of any one wedding places on the water bc we didn't care about other weddings going on. The school that I work at has their prom every year at Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst. There are two rooms but we havent had another party in with us yet. They are extremely accomodating with everything we ask for and are so good with 200 HS kids! Ask for Nick...we like him the best!

you could try beach club estate or windows on the lake in lake ronkonkoma. i'm not too sure of the pricing but they are both waterfront and very pretty!

We're having our reception at Timber Point it's on a golf course over looking the Great South Bay. Try them out they have great pricing depending on the time of year you choose My pricing won't help you much since it has gone up since then & different months (if your flexible) are priced differently no matter where you choose. So as long as your flexible with your time of year will work out great for you! Good luck planning

Welcome and Congrats!!!

You could try the Venetian Yacht Club.

My venue can hold 200 however, it is not overlooking the water - it's still beautiful. You should look at some guides (like the one on here) to narrow down your choices.

Look into Thatched Cottage

Im not sure how many people it can accommodate but it is one wedding at a time and on the water... and I have heard it is reasonably priced.

Re: Newly Engaged

I think you will find drastically different prices for April than June.

I went to look at Warehouse 5 and we walked through the Bayview Yacht club too. The yacht club is on the water and one wedding at a time. Not too sure of the price (but warehouse 5 was reasonable).

Thatched Cottage is another one to check out.

Congrats! I would recommend The Riviera (where I'm getting married) or Chateau Le Mer. Both are beautiful waterfront venues at good prices. The Riviera might be tight though for 200 guests.

Beach Club and Windows are both starting at 80/pp ... I was so upset when I found that out! I was heart set on Beach Club!
