Newly Engaged and Need some advice on Venues Quotes

Congrats to all 2011 brides to be!! I just got engaged on Christmas eve and I am starting my venue search now. I'm going to see Floral Terrace in Feb and possible Swan Club but does anyone know of any price quotes for some reception halls for late April 2011 wedding? Here are a couple of places I am thinking of looking into:

Swan Club
Coral House
Chateau La Mer-
Larkfield Manor-
Westbury Manor-
Brentwood Country Club
Douglaston Manor
Chateau Briand

I am also up for any suggestions as well for possible reception halls? Thanks and congrats!!!

Can you tell us a little more about what you're looking for? Then we can make specific suggestions.

Well, im looking for a reception hall, most likely in Nassau County for about 175 people, most likely end of March - till mid April, I am not particular about either month, whichever is cheaper. I would like a Saturday afternoon but Sunday afternoon is the second option

I'm stuck between two types of venues: Part of me wants a picturesque garden venue, yet the other part of me wants that city-like vibe type of venue. Since I'm not from LI (I'm from Manhattan and I now reside in Woodside, NY), I need a little help on checking out some of these venues. You guys have been helping me out alot thanks! I really like the look of Chateau Briand, Crest Hollow, Westbury Manor, Woodbury Country Club and Floral Terrace from what I have seen online.

Thank you girls again for being so helpful to this Manhattan / Queens girl looking to marry in LI :)!!!! All your help has been greatly appreciated!

I looked at Flowerfield and Land's End and both of those were a bit on the higher side. Flowerfield was my number one choice for a while. I am looking for August though...so my prices might be a little higher based on the month. Majestic gardens was like $110 for August. Villa Lombardi's was around $129 for August. I am booked at Giorgio's and its $139 for August. I was shocked at how low Giorgio's was!! The place is amazing. There is a golf course, a brand new garden with fountains and and outside bar, and it is also on the water so there is a beach. The inside is spectacular and the food is great! I am getting 10 stations at my hour and a half cocktail hour! I fell in love immediately.

Ok one more thing. I saw Coral House on your list. And I do not mean this to offend anyone who is booked there by any means. I went to a banquet dinner at the Coral House once a few years ago and the food was awful. It was almost not edible. Now, that was a few years ago, so they might have different chefs or a different menu. Also, it could have just been a really bad night and it was out of the ordinary. But that was my one experience there.
