Re: Newly engaged and overwhelmed!

Chateau La Mer has a free sit down food tasting every other Wednesday. I think there is one this Wednesday. It's on the water in Lindenhurst.

Hello,

My boyfriend and I got engaged recently and we have already been inundated with questions, opinions, suggestions and comments. I know it's all coming from good places and people that care about us, but it's a bit overwhelming.

So, any advice on where to begin planning? We know we will invite between 150-175 ppl. We're planning for early/mid-Spring next year. We want to get married in a Catholic church. Would prefer a more low key venue, maybe something on the water. Old Field Club and Bay View House are Captain Bills to get an idea.

Any venue suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am not really sure where to begin, do I just call places and ask for their starting per person bid? And then start to weed out places based on price? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

CONGRATS!!! And Welcome!

You should start by picking a couple of dates you would consider and then go from there. Most RH's wont give you prices over the phone so you will most likely have to make appointments which is fun anyway.

Also, see what dates your church has open so you can book your RH accordingly. You might run into some situations that your church has some dates available but your RH doesnt and vice versa......

GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Newly engaged and overwhelmed!

Congratulations!! I got engaged 2 months ago and i know exactly what you mean..it is definitely overwhelming! Firstly, take your time..and enjoy it..i have to start taking my own advice but that's what im thinking..

Secondly, remember that is is YOUR WEDDING!!!!!!! You are going to hear opinions and ideas from everyone under the sun , but at the end of the day you need to stand your ground and remember that it is your wedding!

I am getting married at the new Allegria Hotel & Spa in Long Beach and I know its going to be absolutely wonderful!

Good luck and FM me if you need to chat:)
