NEWLY ENGAGED!!! Help on Venues (FH, WM, JT, CLM, VYC) likes/dislikes/ prices etc.

I am recently engaged and new to this site!! All of my girlfriends who are married have told me great things about this site that all the brides on here are very helpful!

We're looking to book our wedding for June or Sept 2012 ... and a Sat night!! So far we've narrowed our list down to Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Jericho Terrace, Chateau La Mer, Venetian Yacht Club to start out with.... and probably a few others to compare to also.

Any insight - who to ask for, what to expect, prices that you were quoted, likes, dislikes, etc. would be greatly appreciated!!! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks girls!!

Congratulations!

I don't have any info on pricing for those venues. But my FH cousin got married at VYC and it was fantastic! I have pricing for

Bellport CC
Timber point CC
Windows on the Lake (although I wouldn't recommend)
West Sayville CC

Hi Lisa!
Welcome to LIWeddings!
I looked at alot of the same places you're interested in. They're all pretty much in the same price range.
I only asked for Saturday afternoons and Sunday evenings in May and June and then settled for the last weekend in April at WM. My quotes are probably not very relevant because it was during the day for Saturday and then Sunday at night.
Fox Hollow - We liked the venue but their customer service was lacking UNTIL we got to the BM, he was a sweetheart! He offered us a complementary night stay at their hotel if we booked. The prices for May and June were the same. I loved it, it's just that our heart was still at WM! (We saw 5 venues in one day!)

Jericho Terrace -- The fist venue we saw. Beautiful place, but just not for us. I felt closed in because they didn't have windows in the room they showed us. If you like modern, this is the place for you!! Very modern, cleancut and opulent! But we wanted something with gardens for the pics and JT doesn't have much of that other than a gazebo and small garden area....

Westbury Manor
Westbury worked for us because it has gardens, the room we got has a balcony that opens up to the gardens and we also get the 'library room' so if people don't want to be where the action is all the time they can go relax in that second room, etc. The only thing we didn't like about our chosen venue is that it's a bit dark but it feels very homely.

I depends on what you're looking for. Quite frankly it's a feeling...We just felt that was the venue for us. We're kind of torn between FH and WM and another venue in Westchester but then realized we kept comparing all venues to WM. Also WM was closer than FH for us and our families.

If you want to know our quotes, feel free to FM me.

Look into Verdis of Westbury they are reasonably priced and will work with your budget , Mike is also very nice. I am having my whole wedding there.

Welcome & congrats!!!

We looked at Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Jericho Terrace, Chateau La Mer and was suppose to see VYC but didnt.. I dont exactly remember but i think the prices were around ... (all for sat night in july)

FH- 139
WM- 150
JT- i think less then 100 and if it was over 100 it wasnt by much
CLM - was probably 100 something

Samantha at VYC was fantastic to work with!! I don't have the price quote with me but it was very reasonable. We were looking at April, though, so it might be different for Jun and/or September.

Congratulations and good luck with planning!!

Congratulations and welcome!!!!

I've been to weddings at Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor and Jericho Terrace and all of them were fantastic! For a Saturday night in the months you mentioned I'd be prepared to pay over $100 pp.

I just booked VYC on a Sunday in July, however I know Saturday night rates begin at $118, depending on the size of your party.

It's gorgeous there. Ask for Eric if you want to make an appointment!

I don't have prices for June/Sept but i looked at WM and JT which are on your list.

JT is more modern and chic. The rooms are absolutely breathtaking and you save money b/c they have uplighting in 3 out of the 5 rooms. I booked with JT b/c I fell in love with my room and the location was perfect b/c it wasn't from from bklyn.

WM grounds are beautiful. This venue would be for you if you want an outdoor garden type wedding. I didn't go with WM b/c I was more in love with the outside than the inside.

I only have prices for April/May and all were under $100 for Friday night. Saturdays was definently more than $100 b/f tax and gratuity.

We are also looking at west lake inn. anyone have any comments on that place? They own flowerfields too which is on our list. Ive been to weddings at flowerfields and they are amazing. Watermill and west lake are an interest.

Went to a wedding at JT about a year ago. Like a few of the other girls said, it has a modern look to it and it's def. more on the opulent side. With that said, the food is very good and the service is excellent. The rooms are all so unique and different.
