I am new to the site and have seen all the great advice that people have gotten on here. So I am asking for some advice myself. My Fiance and I are going to look at halls this weekend and wanted to get some feedback from anyone who has either been to a wedding at or has priced the places we are seeing. They are Sans Souci, Thatched Cottage, Roslyn Claremont Hotel and the Metopolitan. We are looking at a max of 160 people and max price PP of $150. Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: Newly Engaged, help with reception search!
I've been to all but the metropolitan. Thatched cottage is really nice with an old fashioned feel to it. Its definitely in your budget and minimum. Sans souci I liked also, but I was given a quote I thought was too high for the size and location of the reception hall. The hotel was way out of our budget, but was beautiful. Good luck!!

Congrats and welcome!
I've only been to a wedding at Thatched Cottage...and they are in your price range.. the minimum for a Sat night is 150, I think. It was a great wedding, too.
Good luck!

Remember, Sans Souci's dance floor is not in the same area as the tables, it's kind of adjacent, that might be a deal breaker.

I got pricing from Roslyn Claremont-- I believe it was in the neighborhood of $160 pp ++ for the Spring, Sat night.

I have only been to the Metropolitan, it was nice, I don't know the pricing though.
I am only saying nice, b/c I wasn't feeling good that night, so that didn't help my whole experience there.

Re: Newly Engaged, help with reception search!
I visited Roslyn Claremont. For a Saturday night in June, it was $125pp and for a Saturday in July, it was $110pp--this is all before tax & gratuity though. It's really a nice space and very convenient if you have a lot of OOT guests. Our only problem with it was that the ballroom is technically in the basement (although they do a good job of not making it seem that way with high ceilings, etc.) so there aren't any windows. Also, there isn't an outdoor area for taking pictures if that's a concern for you. Good luck with your search!

Re: Newly Engaged, help with reception search!
I looked at the Metropolitan a couple of months ago. Their prices were very reasonable (around 85pp i believe), and the woman FI and I met with was exteremely helpful and professional. We also really liked the atmosphere of the ballroom, but we ended up not picking it bc we fell in love with another place. Also it has an outdoor patio, but not too much else in the way of grounds. So you would probably have too take your pictures somewhere else. They have a park nearby which they recommend for that(and giveyou a parking pass for.) The park had a beach, gazebo, etc and was really nice. Hope this helps!

Re: Newly Engaged, help with reception search!
We considered the Metropolitan, but nixed it because we were told that their minimum was 125, which I wasn't sure we would make (we wouldn't have..)
I was quoted 3 prices for the 3 menus at Sans Souci for a Sunday in November. If you want the #s, Forum mail me and I will check when I get home later. I think she told me the discount for Nov. and Dec. was 10% but the top menu doesn't get a discount. I loved San Souci, DH not so much.

Sent you a FM. Try the watermill and of course my favorite the North Ritz Club. I found them very reasonable and accommodating. Good Luck!!

Re: Newly Engaged, help with reception search!
my friends got married at Sans Souci's just a few weeks ago and I loved it. The food was excellent and I liked that the tables were seperated from the dance floor.
