Newlywed name change tip - DMV related

So I go to the DMV the week I got back from the HM to change my name on my license. I had taken a picture a few years ago when I renewed and didn't think they would be retaking. So I walk in and tell the person at the desk why I am here and she tells me to stand in front of the screen. I ask her why and she tells me for a new picture. I told her no thanks I like my other picture. She says too bad you are changing your name you need a new picture. I told her um no you don't understand I don't have makeup on and my hair is in a pony tail She said sorry those are the rules. So I reluctantly take the picture. I asked her when I can come back and retake it. She said I can come back within 3 months. So today I am all done up. Makeup and hair blown out. That's right going tonight since they are open late to retake my picture. Brian thinks I am nuts. But I know you ladies understand. Oh so the point of my story. When going to DMV to change your name - be ready for a new pic

you are so cute Kim! But yea, I totally understand!! it's a woman thing. we must be crazy to WANT to go to the DMV just to take another pic I would do the same

Great advice Kim - will definitely be all done up for that day then!

Oh and another thing girls...Don't mail your SS application in - go in person if possible. Mine is lost in never never land...ughhh what a waste of time...now I have to go in person.

I went to the one on 112 - there was no one there and best part they didn't charge me a fee. But the woman at the desk was laughing at me

OMG Kim.. I knew I was going to have to get a new pic so I purposely blew my hair out and had a full face of makeup on for my 'photo shoot' Ive been waiting 4 years for a new pic and I am soo glad I finally got a chance to get one!

I did the same thing, you had to see the most HORRIBLE license picture ever. It looked like a big nose(which I dont have) staring back at you.

I went to the one on 112 in Port Jeff. I was in and out in 10 minutes. There is hardly anyone there whenever I go. Good luck!

Thank God I get to take another picture! I got my license in 1985 and it still has the same picture of me with my 'feathered' hair and huge glasses!! My daughter cracks up everytime she sees it!

Same thing happened to me when I went to change mine. I looooved my old picture and just hate the new one. Of course when I got to DMV, I was PMS'ing and no make up. I need to get my picture re done too!
