Newlyweds who lived together before they got married...

...did things change after you got married? If so, how? FH and I have lived together for almost 4 years now, and it's hard to think that things will be much different.

We lived together for 4 years and things definitely changed for us. It's hard to put into words but we immediately fell deeper in love, there was a real connection that was palpable that wasn't there before...we were a family now. Instantly. Being married meant we were going to be together forever so arguing and fighting pretty much went away. The first month was pure bliss. Of course, we're human, so after a while you do have disagreements but being married made us argue and communicate better - I held my tongue a lot and thought before I spoke (I'm a hothead) because I know that being upset will be counter productive since we eventually have to make up. It's a milion times better than just living together and being engaged...you feel safe, protected and for us more in love...I didn't think that was possible. I hope I made sense.

We've been together for 8 years, lived together for 5 years.

for us, it was different, but not in some big huge way.

We felt more connceted and content/happy. For us, being married, made us feel so much more comfortable and content with each other. We might fight, we might argue, but we both know it's not going to 'break us up' and that we have to make up eventually :) It's definitely brought us closer.

But there were no huge life changing adjustments, like there is, I think, when you first live with someone (married or not). That's just an adjustment in and of itself!

Makes perfect sense! I just can't imagine being MORE in love. But I know what you mean. We lived together for 2 years before we got engaged, and once we got engaged, there was sooo much more love. I guess it will be even more after we are married.

Um, let me tell you. NOTHING has changed. That's first question everyone asks us, and to be quite honest, I knew things would be the same, but everyone kept telling me they'd be different. So no, nothing's changed.

Nothing changed for us. If anything I think we just feel more settled.

things changed emotionally only. we are just soooo happy and it's a different state of mind, a different feeling, a different us. so cheezy but that's how we feel.

Things are much better but not different, if that makes sense. We no longer have the stresses of wedding planning, which did cause quite a few 'disagreements'-haha. I think we feel more secure and we're both more attentive. For us, becoming family has made it more important to treat each other right and to try to not get into petty arguements.

I know it probably sounds sappy...but I guess after being together for over 9 years (engaged and living together for 4 of those) I didn't think things would change or get any better. Much to our surprise, they did. I'm lucky to have found my DH and to call him my best friend...and the fact that he's even more attentive and sweet, well, I guess I'm lucky.

But I also see that you're getting married next month and I have to tell ya, I couldn't STAND my DH the month before my wedding...
