Of course I want pics with my FH and my family, my FH with his family, etc. Do I have to take double the amount of pics since my mom and dad dont talk and either do the families?
I couldnt take a pic of both together because no one would even want that picture besides myself.

Re: Newlyweds with divorced parents...
My parents put aside their differences for the day and were very civil. Whenever both of them were in a pic with me, they each went on seperate sides of me. It worked very well.

I am sure my parents will do the same since its my wedding day, but what I mean is neither of them would want that picture in their album, Id be the only one whod want it and maybe my sister! So wed still have to take seperate ones, no? Did you?

Re: Newlyweds with divorced parents...
I know what you mean....my mom said she didn't want any of the ones with both parents...so I am just keeping them as proofs. The photog was great and took plenty of pics with just me and one parent. It really didn't take as much time as I thought it would, either.

no hon, it's your wedding and both of them have to be in the album. When it was time to take pics, I had my mom, stepfather and brother in some, and then my father and brother is others, not mom and dad together and it worked out fine. I think I do have one of the three of us before the ceremony though.

Re: Newlyweds with divorced parents...
I used more pictures of me & my brother (& his wife in some) for 'family' shots for my mom's album. And maybe only two or three with my Dad in them (like walking me down the aisle ... etc)
ETA: At the time of my wedding there was no issue between my parents (who have been separated for 10 years) ... shortly after, there was. But what I'm trying to say is, I still had a lot of pictures to choose from even though we weren't shooting pictures specifically for each of them ... I don't know if I'm making sense.

Re: Newlyweds with divorced parents...
My parents were civil but for the most part we split the pics, but they did stand together for some so it wasn't so bad - but there were 3 sets
DH's family Bride's Mom and family Bride's Dad and family
Good luck with this - this isn't always the easiest to deal with - my parents hadn't seen each other in years so it helped that they had the rehearsal dinner as a practice

that's what we did...a set with my mother and her side of the family and a set with my dad/stepmom and the family I lived with for 10 years (me, sis, dad, stepmom, 2 stepbrothers)

Re: Newlyweds with divorced parents...
Well, it was already decided by my FH. My parents are both divorced and remarried, live in 2 different states and do not talk (my e-party will be the 1st time they all meet the other's new spouses!!!! ). His parents are divorced, not remarried, but are friends. FH has said 'Family pictures is just that, family. No step parents.' I am still on the fence, b/c I get along SO well with my step-mom. We have time to decide for real, but seeing as my parents do not talk, may do seperate pics of me with dad and step mom then me with mom and step dad. And then possibly one of us all.

How did you work pictures?

I couldnt take a pic of both together because no one would even want that picture besides myself.
My parents coped attitudes whenever they were near each other at the weddings (sad they couldn't be mature enough to put it aside for the day for the sake of their daughter) so yes, I had to take double the amount of pictures.
