Newlyweds/upcomming brides: If you had it all to do over....

what would you say you wished you did sooner? For those of us with a year + it seems like we have forever, but I know the time flies. Any suggestions for things we should be doing? Trying to gain wisdom from your experience!!

I planned the whole thing in 7 months- I would have done the favors sooner! Me & my Mom we wrapping favors the night before!

It goes by SO FAST!!!

I will be engaged for a year and a half when I get married next month and I'm glad that we have been engaged for this long. I booked all the big things in the beginning and then I had time to relax and think things out slowly...take my time deciding the small stuff. Now, I have two months to go and I'm going nuts!!!

Take your time and ENJOY IT!!!

hmmm, that's a really good question. we did the whole thing in 5 months, which was pretty crazy. my mom and i went crazy with the favors, tying bows until 3 am the day before they were due!

i guess i would say the Rehearsal Dinner. FH's parents paid for it, but that was it. we organized the whole thing. i would have started that earlier and i would have sent out invitations for that (with direction cards). We did this two months before, and did not do formal invites because we figured most people would know (i.e., close family and BP). BUT, Sooooo many people were from out of town and had NO idea how to get there. i was giving directions right up until the hour before. plus, we accidentaly forgot to invite 2 couples that we just assumed were coming (hello - we are idiots!). i am so embarrassed about it. but they totally understood!

Good thinking to learn from our mistakes!! good luck!

We booked all of our big vendors first, then rested in between, then did the smaller things & got them out of the way as soon as possible so we didn't have to rush at the end (programs, decorating baskets for bubbles, programs, got unity candle, FG baskets etc....)

The little things!!

They sneak up on you at the end, and I really wish I would have told everyone to mind her/his business when they said 'you have so much time, what are you carrying on about'.

It's 3 weeks until my wedding and I wish I had already finished:

The programs
The favors
Honeymoon shopping and packing!

And hindsight is 20/20...I wish I had found this site earlier...I'd probably have different vendors for a few things....

Overall, our planning went pretty well. We planned our wedding in ten months and we had a wedding planner to help us but if we had to do it over I would have planned something special or bought a special gift for my bridesmaids and maid of honor when I asked them to be in the BP. I didn't think to to that and after a read a thread on how brides asked their BM to be in their wedding, I wished I would have done something special as well.

Okay, well I'm not married yet, but here's one thing I wish I would've done... I WISH I would've researched more photographers. I am happy with the one we chose, however, after being on this site, I see so many more out there.

Just wish I took my time a little more...

we planned everything in under 10 months, but we weren't scrambling for anything at the end. The favors and programs were the last thing we did, and those were finished the week before (the day I arrived in NY).

Just get the little things done as soon as you can. Don't put stuff off because that last week just disappears.

I wished I would have packed a week before my honeymoon instead of the night before I was really sick the week before with a stomach virus I also would have done more research on my video
