Has anyone ever been to a wedding in Newport, R.I.? I am also looking there as my fiancee is from there...two places in mind...Ocean Cliff and The Regatta Club...I'm a little nervous to have an out of state wedding as I am not familiar with the venues, etc...Thanks...

Newport is a gorgeous area! I am in Bristol RI right now (20 minutes from Newport) for college. I have never been to a wedding there but my roommate says both venues are phenomenal she has been there for dinner/banquets!

The Regatta Club is beautiful!! The other great thing about Newport is that if you have your wedding there, there is always plenty to do for OOT guests!!!

The summer of 2003 I went to a wedding there. It was really nice and different which was cool. It was a clam bake. It was also the 4th of July so right on the water was fireworks. It was a really cool wedding and very classy. I forget the name of the grounds but i think it was one of those places that the presidents used to use as a vacation spot or something. does it sound familiar at all? Let me know I can always find out from my cousin. Good luck and I say go for it!

LOVE newport- I have only been there once for a girls weekend but it was beautiful. we saw a gorgeous wedding taking place at the chanler house- it was beautiful!
