Newport wedding - favor ideas?

My friend is getting married in newport, RI this summer and I am planning her shower.

Do you have any ideas for shower favors that might reflect that she's getting married there?

Any ideas are WELCOME!

Newport is beautiful: I'm sure you know any nautical/lighthouse themes would be great.

I know it's a popular favor, but crystal wine-stoppers are useful & portray the elegance/nautical theme of the area.

Hey, I went to boarding school in Newport and I think if you want to give a general gift then something beach related would always work....if you want something related to Newport, maybe you can try and get something from The Black Dog...the t-shirts are like 20 bucks, on the back they say The Black Dog, Newport RI. Its a pretty popular thing, it comes in tons of colors and it would be something your guests can have to remember the day.

You could also do edible seaside things like fudge and taffy.

those are all great ideas. One of my girlfriends is in a BM for a wedding in August in Newport. They are doing candles with sea shells, and the wax looks like water.

another LIW bride used them to get shell windchimes to line her aisle (outside wedding). I am planning on ordering bulk shells from them for accents and DIY projects.

Newport is also home to some of the big sailing races, so you can use sailing as a theme too. there are rose bushes along cliffwalk too, and I think Yankee Candle Co used to have a candle that was named 'cliffwalk rose' or something like that.
